One of the highlights of De Aar Solar Power’s initiatives is a Reading Programme that has been implemented across fourteen schools, in conjunction with the Department of Education.
This is part of a programme initiated by the Department of Education, which is currently training 130 Grade R training practitioners of which 30 will be based in the De Aar, Hanover, Britstown, Phillips town and Petrusville areas.
This Reading Coach Programme has already been introduced across 14 schools in De Aar, Hanover and Britstown. Training of the Reading Coaches commenced on 15th July 2014, during the school holiday period. The 14 teachers that have been trained will be allocated the Reading Coach resources.
The Programme incorporates a number of elements, namely employment, training and resources. In addition to this schools will receive a donation of books.
